This was a commission for someone who requested an R2...back at the end of 2006! I am nothing if not timely. *groan*
Sometimes characters give me trouble. Sometimes I'm just not feelin' it. So I give it go for a bit, think it sucks, and let it alone for a time. I'll come back to it later and give it another shot. Nope, still sucks. Let it go again. This goes on, sometimes for weeks. Sometimes for months. I'm thinking I shouldn't even take commissions sometimes. I don't like saying no, but sometimes it's better than having people wait for damn near two years!
As for R2 here...I'm glad I kept at it, 'cause I actually kind of like how he turned out. Hope you all like it!
Thanks, my friend! And you WOULD think it wouldn't work...and it didn't. Not for a looooong time. I've got half a sketch book devoted to crappy renderings of him. I had 3PO, so I had to have R2, but damned if I could get him to look like I wanted him to look! The secret was perspective. I was messing around with him last week, and instead of a downward curved bottom (as I have on most of the Heads Up), I turned it up on the bottom. It made me look at him differently, and it was done in about an hour! Weird how a little thing like that can make all the difference.

"You've been called the Da Vinci of our time. What do you say to that?" "Absolutely ridiculous. I don't paint." "And what do you say to your other nickname, the Merchant of Death?" "That's not bad."
did you know that me and jon got to go see the star wars exhibit at the field museum while it was there?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Now that you have both R2 and 3PO , you'll need to do one with them together.
